General Information

The Chapel has 2 ecumenical services this year.
A Midsummer Service in July and Carols & Christmas Readings by Candlelight in December

Concerts are held on various evenings throughout the summer months.

Opening Times 2019
The chapel will be open to members of the public from 2.00pm till 4.30pm every Saturday from 4th May till 28th September. For access at other times please contact the secretary@walpoleoldchapel.co.uk or see our contacts page

Saturday 11th 7:30pm

‘Harmonium’ - Harmonium is an experiment in vocal sound, created by layering 12 women’s voices with hypnotic interlocking rhythms and harmonies. Written by singer and conductor Sian Croose, the piece is immersive, creating a sound-world that is designed to be transporting to listen to and a joy to sing. Advanced tickets:

‘Music for a Summer Afternoon’ Heartbeat - acapella singers and Bridget Cousins on harp. Tickets in advance from Halesworth Library, or on the door on the day.


Saturday 22nd 7:30pm

Charlie and Jake – jazz, groove, soul. Charlie + Jake are a Bristol-based duo, often cute and cheerful, sometimes wandering into the misty and mellow then swiftly dropping into the groovy and sassy to get everyone clapping along again. Words and Music’ - Two magical concerts combining prose, song and chamber music performed by writers Julia Blackburn, Esther Freud, Lucy Hughes Hallett and Blake Morrison, pianist Gretel Dowdeswell, baritone Robert Gildon, soprano Susan Jiwey, violinist Rebecca Smith-Smissen and violist Robert Smissen.
